Sports medicine in Tuscany
The Department of Sports Medicine at the University Hospital Tübingen is pleased to invite you to the first sports medical training week in Massa Marittima in Tuscany. The course program covers the two-day courses 1, 6 and 8 of the curriculum of the DGSP for the receipt of the additional title sports medicine. The Swiss Society of Sports Medicine has granted us 10 credits for our Swiss colleagues.
With Massa Vecchia, we have chosen an ideal location for the training content. The number of participants, limited to 25, is intended to promote exchange in both the theoretical and practical parts and also to facilitate work in small groups. The Bike-Hotel offers an impressive range of trails, idyllic road routes and a pump track. In addition to cycling, we will concentrate on athletics as a second core sport and focus on javelin throwing and medium and long distance running. We will introduce you to the theoretical and practical aspects of these sports in the areas of technique, fitness requirements and training as well as injuries and illnesses specific to the sport. Further focal points include training therapy for patients, ethical aspects in sports medicine, current guidelines for sports nutrition and the adaptation of the skeletal muscle to physical training.
We are pleased that we were able to engage an interdisciplinary team of speakers for theory and excellent guides and trainers for the practical units.
Here you will find the current program flyer with all important information!
