WINTER TIME IS SKIING TIME = INJURY TIME?
In the 2017/18 season, around 44,000 German skiers were injured while skiing and subsequently had to be treated by a doctor. This represents an increase of 3% compared to the previous season. The top of the injury statistics are knee and shoulder injuries with 32.4% and 18.4% respectively.
These often result in ruptures of the lateral and cruciate ligaments, torn meniscus or fractures of the tibial head. In the shoulder area, the rotator cuff is often affected, the shoulder dislocated, the collarbone broken or even the acromioclavicular joint disrupted.
In addition to medical care, orthoses and bandages (e.g. the <link https: www.sporlastic.de external-link-new-window internal link in current>GENUDYN® CI) support the rehabilitation of numerous ski injuries, relieve the strain and provide effective protection for the affected joint when returning to snow sports.
