MEDICAL CARD: DOCTORS RECEIVE EURO 2,620 FOR CONNECTOR
BERLIN. The refinancing for the connection to the telematics infrastructure (TI) is in place: for the one-off cost of the connector, doctors receive an initial setup payment of Euro 2,620. The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) and the umbrella organisation of the statutory health insurance companies (GKV) have agreed on this following intervention by the Federal Arbitration Office.
The parties to the agreement state they are happy with the outcome: "Our overriding goal was that board-certified colleagues were not stuck with costs that were caused due to the legally required connection to the cross-sector telematics infrastructure.
And we have achieved this goal", KBV boss Dr Andreas Gassen is quoted as saying in a report from Wednesday.
The agreed sum for the connection to the data network applies for the third quarter of 2017. In the three quarters following this, the sum will fall by ten per cent.
The parties to the agreement have also agreed on the initial reimbursements for card terminals: Euro 435 for static devices and Euro 350 for mobile devices. Added to this is a flat-rate start-up fee for doctors worth Euro 900.
There will also be financial support for ongoing operation, although the sums involved for this are not yet known. It is reported that the agreement will be drawn up by mid-May and will take effect from 1st July.
