EMERGENCY DEPOT: EMERGENCY CARE WITH SPORLASTIC
Aids that may be suitable for immediate supply for medical reasons according to Section 33 Paragraph 1 SGB V are referred to as emergency products. Since an emergency supply cannot usually be planned or postponed, emergency depots are necessary and permitted in consideration of Section 128 Paragraph 1 of the German Social Code, Book V.
The following characteristics must be present in order for an emergency supply of assistive devices within the meaning of Section 128 Paragraph 1 SGB V to take place:
- Immediate supply of aids is necessary for medical reasons
- Concretely required supply is not plannable
- Delayed supply would cause unacceptable pain / deterioration of the state of health is to be feared / helplessness of the insured person is imminent / danger to life and limb is given
- The treatment does not take place in the context of an inpatient stay1
