ALLENSBACH SURVEY: HOW SUPPORT AND BRACES HELP
According to a representative Allensbach patient survey (1) on the efficacy of medical aids, 76% of those wearing bandages/orthoses who previously had to take painkillers on a regular basis were able to completely or partially do without painkillers due to the use of medical aids.
To the question which positive effects bandages and orthoses cause in the patients, 71% of the interviewees name an improved mobility, 69% feel their joints stabilized, 58% have less pain and 50% a generally safe feeling.
21% of the interviewed patients could completely do without an operation thanks to their bandage/orthosis and 12% could delay the operation.
This underlines the fact that supports and orthoses can specifically help to optimally support the healing process of the underlying indication, relieve pain and provide secondary preventive protection against renewed injury.
