9TH NÜRTINGER INTERDISCIPLINARY JOINT SYMPOSIUM: EVENT REVIEW
At the 9th Nürtingen Interdisciplinary Joint Symposium (NiG) on 25.09.2021, the focus was on the therapy of sports injuries in amateur and professional sports. True to the motto "What are we doing today?", new findings from modern diagnostics and therapy options with interdisciplinary and differentiated treatment concepts were presented.
The scientific leadership of the symposium was held by PD DR. med. Raymond Best (Sportklinik Stuttgart and team physician VfB Stuttgart) and PD Dr. med. Frieder Mauch (Sportklinik Stuttgart).
In addition to the common treatment approaches of the lower and upper extremities, the focus was also on alternative treatment options that deal with the psyche of athletes, among other things. This gave the participants a holistic insight into surgical, medicinal, orthopedic and physical therapy, which led to a lively exchange.
One of the highlights of the scientific symposium was, among other things, the appearance of Cacau, the former player of VfB Stuttgart and the German national team, who reported on his "life with the fear of injury" and thus captivated the entire audience.
Due to the Corona pandemic, the symposium took place hybrid for the first time. It was therefore possible to participate directly in Nürtingen as well as digitally via Livestream.
In summary, it can be said that this year's Nürtingen Interdisciplinary Joint Symposium (NiG) was once again a complete success! We would like to thank all participants for their interest and the lively discussions and are already looking forward to the 10th NiG in 2022.
We will publish the registration for the 10th NiG on our SPORLASTIC website www.sporlastic.de from November 2021.
