12 October: World Rheumatism Day
The aim of the day is to raise public awareness of the concerns of people suffering from rheumatism. The anniversary was introduced by the German rheumatism league (https://www.rheuma-liga.de/) for the first time 2005 in Germany, and stands in this year under the slogan “rheumatism comes rarely alone - companion illnesses prevent and treat”.
Over 400 individual illnesses rank meanwhile among the rheumatism tables circle, among other things also rheumatoide Arthritis, Morbus Bechterew, axial Spondyloarthritis and Psoriasis Arthritis. Depending on the form and severity of the disease, those affected may experience severe pain, functional restrictions and joint deformities.
The therapy often consists of several elements (medication, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, etc.). The use of bandages and orthoses to stabilize and relieve the affected joints can also help to effectively counteract swelling and relieve pain in a gentle way.
SPORLASTIC is concerned about the well-being of its patients. A mature range of bandages and orthoses specifically supports the therapy of rheumatic joint diseases: https://www.sporlastic.de/en/products/complete-range/.
